"SibenerFest 2014"
Science at the Interface: A Symposium in Honor of Steven J. Sibener
In celebration of Steve's 60th birthday, a two-day symposium kicked off on March 28th, 2014, organized for local students and postdoctoral researchers. In attendance were scientists from all over the country, as well as different parts of the globe.
The first day of the symposium played host to three renowned scientists giving talks as part of a tutorial entitled "Experimental Techniques in Interfacial Science." The second day marked the start of the research symposium, showcasing where the Sibener tree's branches had reached, with both colleagues and former students presenting current research. Posters were presented by students from nearby universities, as well as from Sibener group members.
The symposium concluded with a dinner, ending with a roast hosted by Mark Cardillo and Piergiorgio Casavecchia, dotted with stories from friends, family, and colleagues.
